Janice’s journey in Pilates unfortunately started through a knee injury obtained whilst playing Netball. At the time Janice was playing seven games a week and it came to a crashing halt when she tore her ACL ligament in her knee. Her G.P suggested to try Pilates to strengthen her muscles to avoid future injuries – in particular to her knees. That’s precisely the moment Janice became hooked on Pilates. As well as her passion for Pilates, Janice also enjoys dancing – particularly Ballroom and Street Latin.
These day’s if she’s not teaching Pilates, Janice is most likely playing soccer with her dog Peppa (border collie x kelpie) who, apart from being a beautiful soul, happens to be the best goal keeper going around!
Janice has been described by some of her Pilates clients as: Enthusiastic; energetic; welcoming; supportive; knowledgeable; and caring (Janice would like to add that no money changed hands with any of her clients for these descriptions :-) As a teacher, it is important to her that every single client leaves with a positive experience. In her own words: ‘The class will work hard, perhaps beyond what they thought was possible, and enjoy the ride’. Janice absolutely loves teaching Pilates and watching her clients’ confidence grow as their bodies start to change and they feel stronger.
